The complementariry of decorative glass and textiles: an area expored by the Ateliers Bernard Pictet.

octuber 2021The complementariry of decorative glass and textiles: an area expored by the Ateliers Bernard Pictet.

The complementarity of decorative glass and textile is one of the areas explored by Ateliers Bernard Pictet.

Glass is traditionally associated with wood or metal supports.

Exhibiting at AD Matières d’Art in September 2021, at Palais d’Iéna in Paris, Ateliers Bernard Pictet demonstrated the beauty and originality created by the unexpected pairing of glass and textile.

Three new materials and patterns are presented on the centre pages. Produced using two exclusive techniques, they are paired with fabrics that have been specially created by the renowned textile designer, Toyine Sellers.

The large glass piece on the cover combines a kinetic effect with a sensation of depth and light. The upholstery work throughout, as well as the Rubelli silk velvet gainage of the frames, is by Ateliers Jouffre.
